Study probes ailments attacking beehives

Study probes ailments attacking beehives
To find out, they gave 20 hives protein food (a substitute for pollen, which is fed to developing larvae) that had been spiked with imidacloprid (insecticide). In 10 cases the dose was five parts per billion; in the other 10 it was 20 parts per billion.Previous experiments have shown that neither dose perceptibly harms bees.
Note - If this insecticide previously did not harm bees, what is it that is now harming their immune systems?
